Music is a huge part of healing and the creative life, for me. I know I'm not alone in this.
It seems fitting to have a day completely dedicated to music, once a week.

It's a way to honor this medium, the artists who share their passion in this far reaching way, and the people who come together and connect through it.

I love finding new-to-me music and bands... from unearthed classics, "dork ditties" (if Shakespeare can make up his own terminology, so can I,) and kids songs... to underground sounds so deep they haven't even surfaced into YouTube, yet.

The other side of me loves the old standbys of my youth. Or the songs that transport me to any other significant time, place or person.

Then, there's The band, Cloud Cult, which trumps all....

If anything, I hope having a day specifically dedicated to music I connect with, in some way, will be a reminder to take the time for yourself to find your own songs.
The ones you know so well within you, and the ones yet to be discovered or let out.
