Tuesday Tunes Day, "What Your Soul Sings" by Massive Attack
Listening to all that is inside my heart isn't always so easy. My heart carries massive hurt. So, I can appreciate the simplicity in "What Your Soul Sings" by Massive Attack.
That said, this song is exceptionally simple, and the work of healing the pain in my heart tonight hasn't left me with the brain power to analyze all the different connections and interpretations I see in it.
I am moving forward with this selection because I connect with what I believe the basic intention of it is...
The message to choose joy for yourself everyday, discovering love, and gaining trust, connection and freedom from shame through that journey.
Also noteworthy...when I was inpatient on a trauma unit for a month in 2007, Massive Attack was one of only a few bands I had on CD to drift into peace with, using my headphones.
Music matters.

Massive Attack is also a band that has used their art and influence for advocacy and activism for different causes. Regardless of which causes Massive Attack has rallied for, I believe in the power of art as a force for change for individuals, communities, and the world.
