Tuesday Tunes Day, "Life Means So Much" by Chris Rice
I love a wide variety of music, but I have to admit, the traditional contemporary Christian genre is not one I have fallen particularly hard for. The funny thing is, however true this is, over the years I have acquired at least a handful of albums, from gospel and hymns to Christian pop and rock bands!
I can't help being a go-getter!
My lack of enthusiasm for a lot of contemporary Christian music doesn't necessarily have anything to do with belief systems. I just like an honestly good song, and it's a more intensive dig through the material when it comes to music within this targeted theme.
I have heard plenty of well-intentioned Christian tunes, but sadly, cannot handle a lengthy listening session to most! My opinion is that a lot of Christian music does a disservice to the potential goodness and depth of the message.
"Good" tends to be inherently subjective and personal when it comes to the arts. Especially, if you're not approaching things from an academic/technical point-of-view. I make no judgments of what others find musically appealing!
I'm an unlikely fan, but the fun thing about making yourself into a make-shift music critic, like me, is you get to choose what's good to you, and share your opinion with a few people in the world.
I came across this Tuesday Tunes artist, Chris Rice, about a decade ago when I was first investigating Christianity, and have held onto one song of his, in particular, all these years, through many twists and turns in my spiritual journey.
It came to me at a time I really needed to hear the lyrics as a single mama, extremely alone in challenging circumstances. The goodness and need of this song actually hasn't let up, since, even though I'm remarried and some things are different. I've found it inspirationally universal.
I announce: "Life Means So Much."
Some things never change, and that can truly be a blessing.
Life has always meant so much.
Sometimes it is the obvious, and that which we are agreeable to, we need reminded about most.

In picking Chris Rice as today's highlighted musician, I learned he has recently explored other mediums of expression in painting and poetry, making his contribution here even more fitting! An exciting discovery of bravery and growth in a fellow being along the way! I love finding others practicing what they preach when the message is love...the ultimate best!
This artist/song was secured for the pick because he seems like a guy I'd like to know!
